This is a great project! I agree with don4331 features suggestions.

As for a name, how about Mercury Misaki? Misaki is a breed of pony. I did think of calling it the Mounty for the Canadian connection but... too much.

Maybe Mercury Vaquero?

@PetroleumJunkie412 did you ever figure out all that mountaineer front end on a ranger we were discussing? I thought you figured out you needed doors from one also? The same way they did that svo v8 ranger with the exploder style front end.....

No chance of fitting without major work from what I could tell. At least on a 1996 ranger.

Mercury universe, “galaxy “ comes to mind too, but that nameplate has been around before, then again so was “maverick”.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far on what to call this. Comments again please.
I'm trying to stay away from names used by other manufacturers.
Buick had a "Centurian" Concept car in '56 I think, then made Centurians from '71-'73. There also was an aftermarket customizer that took Ford Full size trucks and made them into some pretty impressive SUV type rigs before Expedition's came into play by Ford itself Centurian C-150, C-250, C-350 (you get the picture).
So Centurian was up there on my list, also up there on my list was "Gladiator" which is associated with Jeep (damn).
"Legionnaire," but is now more associated with the disease that killed middle-aged conventioners, than members of the Roman Army (so its out).
I think "Tribune" would be fitting. Kind of a nod to this rigs Mazda beginning (Mazda produced a model called "Tribute"), Roman military association as Tribune rank was higher than a "Centurian."
Thoughts?

Mercury M-1 Marauder. Although both "M-1" & "Marauder" have been used by Mercury, the Combination of the two names is a nod/homage to it's predecessors and the heritage it came from

A slight take on the above ^^^
M-50 Marauder?
I like your adaption of Ranger850's original idea! Homage to M-1 old style and M-100 full size trucks, M-50 is similar with what Dodge did when they labeled their mini-rebadged trucks D-50 compared to their full size Dodge trucks.
And Marauder already has vintage logo's that could be had to dress the rig up! I'll have MacGyver the M-50 though.....
Now to find someone that can replicate the correct "MERCURY" old school lettering across the tailgaite.
Nayce!!!
