- My credo
- What ?, me worry
My 1997 Ranger with the 2.3L , 5spd has taken to doing a strange thing lately. Everything works great and it is it's usual dependable self. Coming to a stop in an intersection the idle stays up around 2200 -2500 until the rust bucket comes to a complete stop, then the idle slowly drops to 1000 to 1200. There are no error codes or anything to indicate a problem, just the idle speed is high till it is completely stopped. I took it up to 50mph, popped it into neutral and stopped and it stayed at 2200 - 2500 rpm till the truck completely stopped, then the idle slowly slowed down to 1000rpm.
Any thoughts on this ?.
Thanks
John
