Firstly this is my daughter's mother's truck. I don't have access to it until Saturday, when I hope to do some quick repairs. I can help ID with things I recall. Thing is I can't figure out what rear struts to buy because there seems to be like 27 different fit options depending on the truck/drive/front susp/engine. I want stock level replacements nothing special.

So I know its a 99 Ranger. It has an extended Cab with 2 jump seats. It takes flex fuel (has the leaf on the back) I suspect its a 6 cylinder but I actually didn't check, are there any 4 cyl. Flex? She says its a 4WD, but she isn't the most knowledgeable about vehicles. The struts seems to vary in travel between 5.5, 8 and 11 inches. What more information do I need to get the right fit? I may also need a new nut for one upper mount because ill be grinding the old one off and bolting a replacement on.

I just want OE shocks cheap! Help please.

only thing I can suggest is to ask her for the vin number and if possible the numbers on the door jam sticker. that's the only way I can think of that will get you the information you need. I believe theres a guide to decoding the information in the tech library or if not somebody on here certainly will. good luck.

First off it doesn't have struts, anywhere. It has coil springs in the front and leaf springs in the back. So assume you are trying to replace the leafs? Or maybe the shocks?
