Thank you very much for producing a very limited number of spindles for the 95 -97 ranger 4wd w/abs.....Bought a junkyard spindle a couple months ago with intentions to do the job as soon as money and time would allow. Tear it all apart and find out the junkyard sold me a non abs spindle. Nearest abs equipped spindle was atleast a week away shipped.

Ford no longer carries this spindle, nor does any parts store... Only available through a salvage yard, and is rare and hard to come by unfortunately. Luckily with some some grinding wheels and a tap and die set I now have the "proper" spindle for this abs equipped truck I own.

All in all with all new bearings, u joints, seals abs sensor, and hub.......plussss some rigging the entire driverside front end of my truck is rebuilt. The shitty thing is I bought all new rotors pads, and wheel bearings and get down to a leaking caliper on the opposite side of the truck the issue started with. Sometimes life is a bitch and that is the story that comes with an 18 year old truck.

Sorry, had to rant........Shitty last few days driving the wives 02 beetle to work........:annoyed:

Just a matter of economics, no large company can carry an inventory that goes that far back, especially for rare/slow moving items.

IIRC, this was a Spicer issue with availability, not Ford.

Oh yes they could, just not for something as short lived as a street driven vehicle. What is the average lifespan up to now? Something like 10 years?

Ag companies maintain decades worth of stuff... but that is a whole different game than cars.

I found those also. Somewhat pricey and I couldnt wait. This already cost me about $400 in parts and a bit in labor to change the u-joint for the 4wd axle. That damn u-joint wouldnt budge even with my 6 ton vice, I was amazed and pissed. And yes, I did remove the c-clips....

I ended up replacing that spindle, the spindle bearing and seal, both rotors and pads and a caliper because the passenger side caliper sprung a leak when I compressed the pistons to install new pads ( no surprise)...... O and a wheel speed sensor because my dumb ass hit it with the chisel when I was removing the spindle.

The labor by itself wasn't hard, but even buying the parts with a discount because I work at a bodyshop hurt. Atleast I know the work was done right and I am now extremely familiar with the front end of this rusty ass truck now. :icon_welder:

Next project is clutch and slave cylinder, ball joints, new spindle on passenger side along with new u-joints. While I am doing that Im sure the rear driveshaft and rear brakes will go out... Nickles and dimes beat my wallet to death...Story of an 18 year daily driver I suppose.

I've never tried, but why wouldn't the spindles from a TTB Xploder with ABS work?
