After waiting on the Bronco since 2004... I would have thought you'd be use to it?

I’ve got an estimated delivery date of 3/13 according to Ford and a delivery date of 3/7 - 3/10 according to the salesman.
I’d like to make a recommendation to anyone thinking about ordering a vehicle... DONT DO IT.
Waiting sucks!
When my brother ordered his Mustang it was built in May... and he didn't get it until early July. For some reason they put a monthlong hold on the GT's. This was in 2010, 2011 model year. It pretty much drove him nuts also, of course he ordered it before production started too... so it was from February to July.

The wait seems to be the norm. When I ordered my Ranger, I waited about 6 months from when it finally got ordered about 3 months after it was supposed to get ordered.

I’ve been told commercial sales can be even worse. It could be up to a year after the truck is ordered.

The truck got delivered today at around 5:30 according to the trucking company. The dealer closed at 6. At 10 minutes to 6, I texted my salesman a pic of the delivery receipt and asked if he was working Monday. He’s off Monday, but he’ll call and have them prep it.
I don’t think he deserves a commission... he wasn’t there when I ordered it, he won’t be there for the sale, all he did was show me a few trucks.

When I sold engines or transmissions at advance auto years and years ago we got commision on the sales. The only problem was you would get a customer come in looking for info or advice, You do all the work of making the sale, then verifying the right parts, calling the company for pricing and availability, going over warranty info and mindless details. Then the customer would leave, come back in a day or so and hand whoever was working the register a slip with the engine order info on it and the cashier rings it up. Who do you think made the commission on that?

I hate anything to do with commision. It just encourages laziness and unethical business practices.

So is it cheaper when they just leave it in primer?

2 week update...

360 miles. About 3/4 of a tank of fuel used. 17MPG according to the onboard calculations.

This 3.5l is quiet compared to the 2017 5.0l w/ the MBRP exhaust. Too quiet. It’s definitely faster. 3.55 gears and normal sized tires have something to do with that. (As opposed to 3.31s and 35’s on the the ‘17.) The torque curve is different... the 5.0 felt like it came on stronger (more aggressively/ violently). But once the turbos spool, this thing moves out faster/ smoother then the 5.0L.
The 10 speed keeps it in the power band at all times. If never feels like it lacks power or hunts for a gear. Anything more then 1/4 throttle off the line has the tires spinning/ fighting the traction control. I’ve noticed it skips 2nd and 4th gear under light acceleration, over 1/3 throttle it uses every gear. You never really feel it shift... you have to watch the display to know for sure.
I’ve already had an issue that I should have brought it in for service. The shifter got extremely loose and sloppy. It turns out the lock for the adjustment at the trans wasn’t fully engaged when they built it and it popped free. I could barely get it into park or drive.
Instead of bringing it back to the dealer in Lakewood (The town has 300+ confirmed cases of covid19), I just climbed under it and fixed it. 30 second to lock in a clip VS going into the town with the highest infection rate in this part of the state?! Easy choice.
The longer wheelbase 157” vs the 145” on both my ‘15 and ‘17 isn’t really noticeable. It does ride a little smoother, but it also doesn’t have a 6” lift and 35’s. I’m thinking it may be noticeable while towing... that’s usually where a longer wheelbase helps.
Final thoughts... I very happy with the truck. I’m glad I ordered it with the options I wanted, instead of just taking one off the lot.
