This also has practical application in towing and recovery when wheeling. pay attention to where that recovery line will go if it gets snapped or when tying it down to either vehicle (the stuck one or the rescue one)

Glad you got your eye looked at. Eyesight is something that you really don't want to lose. Having rust fall in your eye is one thing, but at high speed like that, for me, it would have required a little more than beer.

I would personally never do this, but, this is an old mechanic trick my grandfather and father taught me. If you get rust in your eye, get a matchbook, one of those fold-over types where the matches are made out of cardboard(ish). Rip off one match and you will see fine strands where it was ripped from the book. Have a trusted friend use those fine ends to brush the rust out of your eye.

That's what they used to do before eyewash stations. Please use eyewash stations whenever possible.

A shot glass full of water held to the eye and your head tipped back with your eye open works fairly well at washing the eye.

I use a magnet to remove steel... it doesn’t work so well on aluminum.

I've thought about using a magnet, but I would have to get a new one and keep it tucked away in a clean spot to use only for that purpose. All of my other magnets are a little too dirty to put near my eye.

UncleGump- I like the idea of a shotglass as an eyewash. I usually just use the pull out sink sprayer for the kitchen sink on low pressure
