I'll post an update when I get some good pictures, currently instructing and working on getting hired by Envoy. My plane is getting a whole avionics overhaul and it should be done soon.

Your plane needs a 160 degree thermostat and 50 weight oil.

I got my pilot license in 1991. Started taking lessons the summer of 1990. Almost bought a Piper Cherokee 140 in 1992. Almost. But alas, I had 50% of the plane's cost, and that wonderful pilot's organization, that goes to great lengths to say how great they are at loaning money, wouldn't loan me the remaining 50% because I didn't own a house. Told them if I owned a house, I couldn't afford a plane. I worked at Northrup Grumman on the B-2 program at the time, making north of $24 an hour. Lived alone, single, no kids. No, they wouldn't loan me the rest. I think it was like $18,000. So, I went and bought a brand new Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR4. Pretty much gave up flying after I got married in 1994. My hearing sucks now, so I wouldn't even try again.

I've flown Cessna 150, and 172's. Piper Cherokee 140, 160 and I think it was the Dakota. Took spin training lessons in a Piper Tomahawk. That was a blast.

With basic med now, you can actually get a medical very easy as long as you have never been denied one. Also the traumahawk is an interesting plane.

People who have no exposure to aviation have any idea how much money is sitting in that instrument panel right there. Even I only have a general idea since I haven't dealt with general aviation in quite some time.

Yeah it wasn't cheap, but it was a really good deal.

Woah! Update time. I'm still alive and still flying.
I'm at 1000 hours so far and have a start date on the airlines for Jan 2021, however being as covid exists that's not likely. I'll post some update on some of the birds I've been flying here soon.
As for my truck it still works haha.

I saw a plane yesterday at a yard sale. Seriously. A 40’s cessna trainer, just fusalage and landing gear but he claimed to have wings and rest of it except for a motor. He also had a open vw buggy. I didnt ask how much, was interesting though. Plane last flew in late ‘60’s, vw had been to california and back. Long way to drive a open vehicle. It had a lever to control each rear brake independently, like a tractor for turning help in the sand. Ive never seen that done before but it makes sence. The plane was pretty cool but it sure would take alot to make it flyable again, cant exactly put a predator engine up front with a prop (for starters)
