so ive been looking for this thing forever, for a while i thought i might never get one!

so what, just a d35. one with auto hubs at that, whats the big deal?

thats right, 41/10=4.10's! whoo yeah!! it came out of this truck, its a 1990 supercab 2.9 auto, exactly what AllanD said to look for. its a retired city truck, been sitting for the past few years. according to the paperwork, the trans went out sometime in 2010 (with just over 100k miles) and its been sitting until just recently. had only been in the yard a week or two.

i also grabbed a couple other goodies from the same truck, something else i have never seen in person.

rear jump seat delete panels. they have glove box like compartments that look like they even lock with a key. the truck didnt have keys with it so i couldnt check. i've got the speaker grilles for them as well. i also found motivation to strip down the axle, even after 4 hours at the yard. it was a good productive day.

Nice find, the vehicles I find in the scrap yard are so damaged it makes me wonder if anything is really any good. Unfortunately the salvage yards where I live are about 35 miles away, so by the time I get off work they're closed. Then of course they're closed on my only day off...Sunday.

Hell yeah!

I love it when a man finds his unicorn at the scrapyard.

Mine was a 75 Bronco Sport.

About 3 weeks ago, I bought a '91 Ranger on Ebay. I don't know about it being a unicorn, but is definitely a rare combination. It's a long bed 2.3 m5od 4x4 4.10 true d35 front with A/C . It's the exact truck I wanted except it has the electric shift transfer case.

the 4x4 4cyl is a rare one too! they were the only ones to get the 4.10's other than the 2.9 auto. im pretty stoked, cant wait to get it in. the old d28 is ready to fall apart under my truck.

I've been saying 4.10 D35s are in '90-'92 4-cyl trucks and 2.9L autos since almost the beginning of TRS. Back then numerous people would argue with me to the death that all non-4.0L trucks would have a "hybrid" d35 that never existed until the '93 models came out. Now it seems to be relatively common knowledge lol.

Good score. No doubt they are not overly common.

hell its hard to find a d28 after 90 but they are out there.

only seen 355/373/410 in 91's though....92's i started seeing 327....before that there were some 308's in the 4.0 trucks. finding those was unicorn hunting.

wanted those originally for the diesel swap....went 60's before that happened though. i have had a few 4.10 d35's 3.08's are a bitch to dig up

guys say theres no ext cab hiriders either
