To send it or not to send it, that is the question.
So i have decided to follow in the footsteps of PJ and build my 2.9, except mine is so far more jank then his, so far i have put a little bit more base timing, i put in a 1990 2.9 ecu in, removed egr, installed a upper intake from a European 2.9 and modified a throttle body from a 2004 lincon navigator to fit on it, and now i have put jba headers for a 1995-97 4.0 on it soon i will be getting a pimpx standalone ecu for it to get rid of the EEC-IV that throws a fit quite often because of everything ive done.
ill add some pics in the morning of my jank setup

Solids is betta, = more rpms. One of these days I'll have me another, but it will require a rebuild no doubt.

Ive never been a big fan of RPMs.

I get nervous when the 3.6 in my jeep shifts at 4500 lol.

those big diesels are a bad influence on you :icon_thumby:
Lol...

Ive always been that way. To many years driving big blocks i guess.

Funny story, i test drove a challenger a bit before i bought my jeep. (I wanted a challenger but really had zero practical use)

Anyways...the one i drove was a 14 (IIRC) 5.7/6sp. I remarked to the salesman that rode with me it didnt seem as quick as i figured it would. His response was "quit shifting at 4000" :ROFLMAO:

Here Is the very jank but it just works setup, i have a throttle cable ordered to remove some jankness but it runs well enough for me to daily, and well i care so little about this worn out 38 year old 2.9 that i am not bothering with a air filter
Im also doing what i can to not damage that upper intake which is why i dont have an IAC because my TPS is in the way of that port

I would try to put an air filter on it. Probably wouldnt be hard at all to adapt the air box/hose off the expy or navi you pulled the TB from.

If only it was still there i have a 4 inch intake boot for the TB, and a large 4 inch s&b paper filter that i can put on it, just haven't had a chance to get some 4 inch pvc or aluminum to make it work

I thought there was a write up in the tech section on the power steering and I'm pretty sure there is something in there about upgrading the alternators.
