In the case of Harrisburg, that isn't a direct hit. It's mostly rain. Moisture from these storms can move quite a distance inland. We've had floods in California that have resulted from dissipating hurricanes. Connecticut is subject to direct hits and they've experience more than a few hurricanes over the years.Perhaps you should have experienced hurricane Agnes in Harrisburg, PA in 1972. Or perhaps Gloria in Connecticut in 198?
