My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I've started buying rolls of heat shrink with glue/sealant on the inside. Might not be perfect. But that's about the best product I know of.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!

Make sure you heat it until just a little of the sealant comes out, or else it will be a water trap and corrode the connection faster.

If you have a dealer install the cap, check their work. It’s all but guaranteed they will take the fastest and cheapest route to do the wiring.

I still have a wiring issue to deal with on the 2019 because of crappy installation practices. I have the parts, I just need to get it done. They didn’t even bother to use a sealed two pin connector for the power block. The wire corroded and broke right at the pin inside the connector.

I actually watched the install and personally know the tech that did the install. No short cuts were taken. Sorry to hear you had shoddy work done.

Dunno if you have it, but I have all the stuff to do Weatherpack connectors and an assortment on hand at all times. If you need anything let me know

You’re welcome, I invested in all that stuff awhile back. With all my toys and doing some boat wiring on the side here and there it just became dumb not to have it. When it comes to wiring, I just roll my Packout set over and go at it, lol
