I have my 4.0 engine out. I noticed that my bell housing has two broken bolt flanges.
Can I remove the bell housing with out removing the transmission?

I poop in the furnace.
Kinda sorta but not really.

The bell housing holds the pump and input shaft in. you are much better off removing the transmission or you risk getting the pump misaligned.

Looks like in his video, you would just slip it back on.

My credo
If you can’t fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem
You stand a chance of destroying a lot of parts changing it that way. When the bell housing is removed the pump is attached and next in line is the OD drum and band which more than likely come unseated along with many thrust washers, bearings. No way to support the parts horizontally to hold everything in place.
