Gotcha, I just don't want to spend over 200 for a compressor. Oh and 01 4x4 ranger that's a pretty purple bungee you got on your truck! HAHAHA
Craigslist, I have seen some very nice compressors in that range

I though about media blasting the frame with one of those from harbor freight.
For frame rust get a needle scaler attachment for your air chisel and a set of hearing protectors. After needle scaling, thoroughly degrease - wash well with Dawn dish soap and
when fully dried paint with good rust paint - or if you are made of money use POR 15. (I have not had much better luck with it than with OSPHO and Sico rust paint) This is my 25 year old Ontario ranger frame ready for paint

the grey-t escape
original post was from 2010, wonder if it worked for him and if that truck is still on the road? Ive used por-15 and its a good product. Takes 2 weeks to wear off your skin if you get it on you. Preserves denim too. lol. I did a 1946 2N ford tractor with it and its still looking good. To really do it right you need to completely take everything apart. every bolt, rivit, bracket. But what you can get to without full disassembly will still help get more life out of it vs doing nothing.

My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
There's some spray paints out that claim to not only prevent, but reverse rust. Although I think the small print states this applies to only surface rust.
