I pulled my axles to replace parking brakes everything went fine until i tightened the crosspin bolt. When it just snugged up it moved a 1/4 inch and a spider gear dropped out. What mess am I in now :(

If the cross pin was in... how did you loose a spider gear?

Well then the cross pin wasn't through the spider gear.

Just get it up there and roll it back into place.

the cross pin has to be through both spider gears, it sounds like it was only through one or none... rotate the carrier so the crosspin is parallel to the ground (IE comes out straight toward your face...), place one spider gear on top, the other on the bottom then when holding them into the side gears rotate the spider gear assembly one way or the other until the holes are lined up with the cross pin hole in the carrier, insert the cross pin then rotate until you can get the bolt in.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
The side gears are held in by the axles, the other 2 are held in by the cross pin… if the pin was in place, how did the gear fall out?!

Sounds like something wasn’t going back together correctly in the first place.
