How far have you traveled for a Ranger?

I'm curious to see what lengths some of the folks here have gone to in order to get a particular truck that they wanted. Whatever your personal flavor is, if you found that specific configuration of drivetrain, options, packages....whatever. These things aren't getting any easier to find and certainly aren't getting cheaper. How far have you traveled or how far would you travel to get that truck?

To get the donor 4x4 chassis I went about 100 miles from home, probably 60 miles from home for the first V8 Explorer, and similar for the 3rd V8 Explorer :). The '97 Ranger was only like 15 miles away...

I frequently travel from the porch to the driveway, a good 40 feet, to get my truck.

Considering I live in the rust belt...

If and when I decide to build a truck... I'm gonna be willing to travel a pretty far distance to have rust free.

I drove to Long Island to buy a Ranger... sometimes the distance isn’t as bad as the destination!

Years ago, I bought a Ranger from my neighbor. He delivered it to my driveway. That was the shortest trip.

I flew to Chicago, then a connecting flight to Columbus Ohio to buy my 2001 Ranger Edge 4.0 standard cab shortbed 4x4, but that truck is IMPOSSIBLE to find (seriously, find me another one for sale with those specs) so it was well worth it. Drove her 4 hours to my home. It's been a love affair ever since.

I drove 2 hours to Indy to buy my 87 Ranger just so I could sell the drivetrain and V8 swap it. She's my main b*tch now.

For the right BII I'd drive/fly whatever distance necessary.

I don’t know the distance but I drove and hour to buy the 2011. The 2019 was brought to me by the salesman. I was on his way home and I’m a repeat buyer and friend. I can’t ask for more really.

Do you use the V8 swapped ranger as a daily driver too, and how's the fuel economy like?

I daily drive the V8 Ranger any time it's not pouring rain, but I never drive it in the winter. I've never checked the fuel economy, but it's terrible, mainly because I have the rear axle geared to 3.73 and I drive it like a maniac.

From Sacramento to Los Angeles, about 400 miles. I feel as if many on here have gone much further!

I was curious because I'm thinking about making a long drive for one. 96 XLT extended cab, 4.0, 5 speed with manual transfer case. I know they aren't super rare but they don't pop up often and the manual transfer case was the one thing I would have changed about my 94 that I had for years. It's nothing special really, just what I want.
