We are looking at getting my third Ranger! Ok, one of them was a Bronco 2:)

This one would be ordered new and we would be putting a 500 pound Alu-Cap camper on the back.

Our issue is getting into it into the garage. By my measurements we would be about 2 inches below the frame but I could be off. I would hate to spend a crap ton of money on something that would stored off site.

So, the question is how much would 500 pounds lower the rear ride height?

Thanks for your time. The picture is for reference.

The general load rating for the 2019+ Rangers is 1,600#. So the suspension should drop some. How much, I couldn’t say.

Ah yes, the glorious downside to a truck camper...

FWIW it will always be heavier than you think it is.

So I had to look at the Alu-Cap. That's pretty slick.

I don't want to inquire online.... but what does one of those unit go for?

500 lbs won't make much of a difference. I carry (4) 80 lb bags of sand in the winter in our Ranger, right up against the tailgate, and I don't see a noticeable change.

Here's 1,100 lbs. It leveled our 2019 SuperCab FX4.

Hope that helps.

Yea they are about $15k with install before fitting it out. And then suspension...... That said, it is cheaper than a lot of other RVs.

HenryMac, thank you for the pictures!!! It really does help a great deal!!

Another options...you could always air down if the weight by itself isn't enough.

Belltech makes a lowering kit. Around $800 as I recall but some money would be involved in installation because you have to do an axle flip and weld new brackets.
