I know how to drive, Dad. What you said would be a likely excuse for someone with illegal tail lights trying to BS their way out of responsibility for the accident they caused.

He slammed on his brakes and cut over a couple lanes, apparently he was going to miss his turn. My reaction time was delayed because he essentially didn't have any visible brake lights.

I think I'm going to black mine out on the back.

It did look very cool..... just don't want to get it as dark as the covers did.
and I'm never going to touch the headlights again.

I almost plowed into an a-hole today that had blacked out tails and non-working 3rd brake light. If I had a beater I'd be tempted to trash his rear end. He'd be the one at fault. Oh well, at least he "looks cool".
This is exactly my point. You americans are Sue happy. Anything for an injury law suit. Blacked out tails is a sure fire way to loose, for you. Win for the guy that can't see your lights.

I don't care if you get the most obnoxiously bright LED tail lights just to look cool. Atleast they can be seen. Blacked out tails and covers are justasking for strickter laws regarding vehicle modifications. Blaitant disregard for this is going to fawk it up for "Everyone"!

It's your truck and liscence so do with it what you want. I was in a ricer shop Yesterday getting fog lights for my wifes Civic and on the shelf behind the counter they had about 20 cans of the VHT nightshade. Fawking Ricers.

It isn't so much sue happy, the cops roll up, decide whos fault it was and their insurance takes care of it. Having blacked out tail lights is a great way to restore the front of some else's vehicle on your dime.

Plus he was the guy that about rear ended someone else.

I painted the little built in frame deal on mine, but that part didn't really light up any way.

I've never sue'd anyone, nor have anyone i know (must make us really sad examples of american's)...... that's a really broad, annoying statement.
the guy was just asking about light covers.... I believe his questions have all been answered, and in great length.

if you had looked at the rest of then the responses to my question, you would have seen that im not completely blacking out the tail lights. I already said that i was gonna just darken up the lights. I'm glad to hear ur opinion, but I've already decided what I'm doing. You dont have to worry about the light anyway unless ur in Michigan. Thanks. I found some nightshade at my local hobby shop. Thanks for the help. I will be spraying the lights tonight, I need to let the rain stop.
