Hey all, new here. But I’m in the process of getting my new to me 2.3 dropped back in, but I can’t seem to get the transmission hooked back up. What all do I need to do?

(if you zoom in, you’ll see the gap between trans and engine)

Nothing you can do but fiddle with it till it goes. Do you have a floor jack under the trans? You should. Then you can mess with the height of the trans and with the engine at the same time, and get them squared up so they go together.

You did use an alignment tool on the clutch disc? If you didn't, it will never go together.

Never unbolted the clutch, pulled the “new” engine out of a running and driving truck that was rusted out. All I did was pull the trans off it, and put it in my truck

Sometimes you need to rotate the trans a bit to get the splines on the input shaft to line up with the clutch friction disc

Good idea. Or turn the new engine lower pulley a little bit

We're the trans both the same? The manual trans has a (I think) bushing/bearing in the crank.
