Ya they say 5.0 is the biggest a m90 is good for and im not going to be super hard on my truck to so that will help ill go to the track a couple times. I should be in the mid to high 400s for power the cool thing is i got the blower whuch was sent to a place in oregon and got ported out and coated rotors and better bearings. The back piece on the blower is from magnum powers and is alot bigger then stock and it came with a 95 mm throttle body and a bigger top hat which all cost alot cant remember the price but i got it for a case of beer :) i also put a f250 intercooler on my truck too i read the small intercooler i had would make me lose boost so the bigger the better.

A larger cooler wont make more boost. It will create a little more lag (not very noticeable) and cool the air more. You will see less boost but the cooler air will be denser and create more power with less chance of detonation. I'd rather see 5 psi of cool air then 10 psi of hot air.

I believe you mean Magnuson, not magnum. They are the Eaton specialists.

Air to Air inter-cooler on a roots blown engine do next to nothing. I'm still unsure why SuperCoupes have them from the factory.

My blower IS a Maggie M90, For the 5th time, you will not make close to that kind of power.

He is Roots Blown like me, so the pressure is created Post-Manifold/Intercooler. There will be no boost lost or lag, but there will also be no benefit since the air is heated tremendously at the blower essentially, so an Air to Air is just cooling the air a SPEC before it actually enters the blower, where it is then heated essentially.

On your Centrifugal chargers, Intercoolers work that way.

To cool the air coming out of the charger.

I'm with you 100%!

If the air is heated by the blower and the intercooler is between the blower and the manifold (like it is on the SC), then wouldnt it cool the air?

On your Centrifugal chargers, Intercoolers work that way.
Im assuming your charger is mounted ontop of your intake, inverted, and blowing directly into the manifold. If thats the case, then your right, an intercooler is pointless.

This statement has proven your ignorance/youth.

You do not understand the concepts of CFM, It takes a TREMENDOUS amount more airflow to keep a V-8 at 8PSI compared to the Super coupe's V6.

Are you going to believe some guy in New York, or a guy that actually factually HAS A M90 roots blower on a 5.0 with similar specs, and has been dyno'ed.

Go find me a 5.0 powered ford ANYTHING with an M90 ontop with a stock long block that makes more than 450hp and I will eat my shoe, film it, and put it on youtube.

A stock 03-04 mustang cobra makes 390hp at the crank, and that is with a much more efficient M112 blower, and a far more advanced engine right out of the gates. If an M90 could make that kind of power, why did they bother using the more expensive, more advanced M112?

Think what you want, but I've never heard of them, but stock 5.0's do not take that kind of power kindly, nor will yours make that much.
Sigged! (With a slight modification)

Correct, it is called a "Roots Type" Supercharger, or "Twin Screw" since its an M90 blower.

It is belt driven and sits ontop of the lower manifold, so the air is compressed in the blower and fed directly into the lower manifold.

Typically you will see Air to Water intercooled setups like this, where it will have a 'sandwich plate' between the blower and intake manifold that has coolant flowing through it that goes to a heat exchanger (2003-2004 Mustang Cobras have this from the factory)

Since the setup is so custom, there is no such thing as a Air to Water Intercooler for a M90 on a 5.0 engine, the best option is this position is Meth injection, or Nitrous to get the charge temps down. So if his build ends up with 300whp, and he throws a 200 shot at it, then he could hit 500whp, maybe a dozen times before the block cracks :icon_bounceblue:

You don't need to be a pro on how it all works, I'll make it SUPER simple for you....

Chilling 'cool' air before superheating it does not make up for the whole superheating it thing...

Chilling air after being superheated makes a HUGE impact.

For those that are curious about how these kinds of setups are since they are very rare, here is a picture of mine:

Back on topic...I built a home made redneck bed cover many years ago. Used 1x1's around the inside of the bed and took 1/4" plywood and made the top. Poured (yes, poured) water seal on it until it literally dripped from the underside of the plywood. Let it dry then put outdoor carpet on it. Lasted for 5 or so years until I got tired of taking it off to haul stuff. Yeah, I'm a redneck. But it actually looked pretty good. And nobody else had one like it. (Or wanted to maybe)

:icon_confused: So it's not an M90 roots style?

Wow kid. A 5.0 won't ever make 500hp RELIABLY. You need a Dart block for that kinda giddy up. My buddies '67 Stang with a 331 stroker with a full race everything is still under 400hp. If you are trying to make horsepower, I'm sure you know what .630 lift and 306 duration means, but that is not 306 at above .050, it's more like 274 above .050. Got overlap? He's using a regular old 5.0 block, but it is at it's friggin limits, and he's on his 3rd T5. It'll still walk a '03/'04 Cobra BAD, though.

If you are anywhere in the ballpark of 350-400hp, you should be running a girdle, especially with a puffer.
