I just found this...

good deal or is there something I should know about welding before I (never welded before) buy this?

that comes with flux wire, so you're ready to go out of the box. just make sure you have a 230V hook up where you plan to use it.

that's a pretty good setup though, hobart makes some good welders. i was gonna get one, but lincoln's were a little bit cheaper and welded a thicker material. i needed mine to run off a regular wall outlet too.

Very good welder, but if you are looking to get into welding then a class at the local tech school or community college will help a lot.

yep, the school where i'm getting my premed has a welding class, so I will be taking one. but I would love to get a good welder prior to doing such. I have plans to mess with my ranger, maybe do a biomech customization. So, unless I am special, this is a great deal.

I wouldn't bother with either of those.....the 100 can only handle really thin stuff...... and the "Buzz Box" is only a stick welder, which is alot more difficult to master than the MIG ( wire feed welder, what the first 2 you pictured are )....

like was said, the Hobart 187 is a excellent entry welder that is capable of welding anything you would want for your Ranger....and that price is a really good one.....

like was said, take a class and you won't regret it
