I am brand new to this forum, and have never posted to any forum before, I would just like to share my project. I started the swap in highschool, bought a ram 50 with a 4d55, turned the fuel and boost up and went through 2 transmissions in 6 months. Had a 89 ranger at my house that my dad had for 20 years and it had a burnt valve. I found a bellhousing on eBay to adapt a 4d55 to the ranger fm transmission. I had 2 options to either put ranger tranny in d50 or motor swap ranger. So I decided to motor swap, had to machine bellhousing for space cylinder, make motor mounts and cut and drop my crossmember for oil pan and alternator. Long story short over the last 3 years motor has been pulled several times, new head turbo, gaskets, intercooler costom fuel pin , bigger injectors, clutch, and tons of other small stuff, but finally has been running pretty good lately, made 133 hp to a 32" tire last year at 21psi. Since then it's got the head swap costom manifold, injectors, hx30w turbo and arp studs and MLS gasket. After that it rips, guessing it has around 150 to the tire. Also just picked up another 4d55 with 85k original miles that's gonna go into a 2wd ranger. Anyway here are some pics of the journey?
