I have a 2000 Ranger that I bought so I could learn to work on cars, and to save some miles on my other car.

So far I've upgraded the mirrors and stereo and changed a switch myself.

In addition to that, I've paid professionals to change the radiator, thermostat, complete suspension replacement, complete braking system replacement.

Next, address some clutch rattle, repair floor pan rust, get seats reupholstered and find a decent center console.

Lead follow or get out of my way
You should pick up a headlamp polishing kit and a couple hours of your time and get after those headlamps.

It looks like you got yourself a decent looking truck to start with. Sometimes the best mechanics are self taught, best of luck.
