Hi all,
Just thought I'd drop a post and introduce myself .
I've been viewing this forum off and on for about 4 years now and decided to make an account. I've found some very useful information here.
So, a little about my truck-
It's a 2000 Ranger 2wd, 2.5L, 5spd Man, regular cab and box, with an 8.8" limited slip out of a 1998 4x4 3.0L ( installed before I or my Uncle bought it). It's got P225/75R15s instead of the stock P225/70R15s it came with.
All 4 were bought used just before I bought it. The front tires are Firestone Destination LE2; The rears are Goodyear Wrangler RT/S. They all have good tread but the oldest date is 2012 and the newest is 2016 so they're all hardened and showing signs of dry rot. It's a shame too, since I like the combination and they still ride good until the snow starts laying on the roads.

I bought the truck off an Uncle about 4 years ago and only put just under 2,000 miles on it in that time. I've been working on it since before I even bought it. I started out getting it running for him, then decided to buy it when he said he'd take $750 for it after I got it running again.
It's been a constant wrench session since then but I think I'm starting to make some headway, maybe. She's drained my savings and taken way too much of my time but I still like her. She's old, been beat up and mistreated. She's seen better days but then so have I, we make a pretty decent pair. We're both old, beat up, and don't look too good anymore.

So far I've replaced-
Battery , starter, timing belt and everything that goes with that job plus all 8 plugs/wires, and radiator hoses.
Front rotor,/hub assemblies, wheel bearings, calipers, pads, flexible hoses.
In the rear- Drums, wheel cylinders, shoes, hardware, brake lines, parking brake cables, leaf springs, shocks.
And a lot more I won't list since this is already getting to be a long read.

As far as me- Well, I'm 65 now so crawling under anything is no longer fun ( especially on unleveled dirt and rocks ), but at least the Ranger is high enough( no lift, but the tires' 75 aspect ratio helps a bit) so I can get my fat gut under it in most cases depending on what I'm doing
I was primarily a structural weldor for 30 odd years although in that time I've done a lot of other manual labor jobs such as all phases of concrete, roofing, siding, framing, insulating, even worked a few years as a boilermaker/ ironworker and they all caught up with me now.
Once upon a time I was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, US Army as a 13F1p or FIST member ( Forward Observer) It was a long time ago.
Now I'm on (non service related) disability so most of my free time and what little money I have goes into my Right Lane Ranger aka Rhonda according to my 21 yr old daughter who just started learning to drive last weekend, in the Ranger.

That's it.

I just wanted to add that I have a full set of Ford Official Repair manuals for 2000 Rangers. It has procedures for 2.5L, 3.0L, and 4.0L engines. I don't remember if there's a 2.3L section but a lot of the 2.5 is applicable, just not all.
So if anyone needs some specs just message me or make a post and if it's in the manuals I have, I'll screenshot and post the appropriate pages.
I've been doing this on the Ranger-Forums for awhile now.

Thanks SgtSandman.
You're from Aliquippa? Yea, we're familiar with that town where I'm from, a little Borough called Berwick.:) I seem to recall your High School football team giving our Bulldogs one or more of their few losses back in the day.
I see you're still active duty, much respect to you Sgt.

welcome to the group, airborne!
Thank you superj.
Back in 78 when I was at Ft. Sill Oklahoma for Basic/AIT, once we got far enough along and were allowed weekend passes a few of us used to rent Jap bikes and ride out to a town in Texas, I think it was Wichita Falls? I can't remember the name anymore but it was beautiful out there. We had some good times.
One of the guys was from there, that's why we started going.

Thanks Bgunner for the welcome.
As far as pics of the Right Lane Ranger aka Rhonda, I have over 200 pictures of outside, inside, under, torn apart, and put back together but like I said, she just ain't that pretty anymore lol. My Uncle didn't take care of her, except for regular oil changes. By the time I got it the truck had been through hell. He fell asleep one night and hit a guard rail and damaged the passenger side from bumper to bumper. The whole truck is covered in dents, scrapes, scratches and small rust pockets. I haven't had the money to focus on the body and I probably never will. I just look at it all as her battle scars lol, but she isn't that photogenic anymore. But she's all I've got, we're stuck with each other 'til one of us dies lol.
I do have that one pic as my avatar, I guess it's called. I reckon I can post a couple more, but compared to most of the Rangers I've seen on here mine is pretty banged up.
I'm not even sure where I should post pics if I were so inclined, would I start a thread somewhere? Is there a specific forum for that?

I'm actually from a town next door. We share the same mailing zip code though.

Yep, my Dual Status Technician job has kept me in way longer than the average serviceman would normally serve. I'll be pushing 38 years in a few months.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I can’t believe I missed this thread until now. I claim Berwick as my home, though I didn’t move there until ‘79 from Harrisburg.

Welcome! Around these parts we have a ton of Army stuff going on at A&M University. I'm part Cherokee from around Pennsylvania somewhere.

Post your Ranger pics here, or you can start your own in whatever section that best describes your ride, i.e.: 2wd, 4wd, off road, ect. If you need your B-52 serviced, I'm your guy!

Hey Eric,
Don't feel bad, I didn't know anyone else replied until just now lol.
Bulldogs class of 78 for me. I didn't play football or anything though, I worked after school. I could either play football for coach Curry or work for my first car (1964 Dodge Dart 4 dr. 273ci) That's how it was back then.

Well, I can't even afford tires for my Right Lane Ranger so I doubt I'll ever need a B-52 serviced lol. But I'll keep you in mind if I ever hit the lottery. Just kidding, I don't play the lottery. ;):)

Okay, here are a few pics of the Right Lane Ranger aka Rhonda.
I call her the Right Lane Ranger because right after I got it running and legal my daughter and I were on the highway heading to WalMart when I tried to pass somebody. Well that didn't turn out so well and while I was trying to get up speed I got passed on the right by a lil old lady just shaking her head. So I laid off the skinny pedal and eased back into the right lane. Hence the name.
She runs a lot better than she did back then but I've still got a lot to work to do. Oh, and my daughter called her Rhonda as she was trying to learn to drive in it last week. Rhonda had a rough day lol.
