Hesitation / stumble at 90% Throttle

1992 Ranger, 2.3 L, 5sp Mazda, Std Cab / Short bed

Hi folks - new to this forum and have searched for related topic, but no luck. . .

Just bought this truck and it runs great, except for this hugely annoying problem - can't accelerate up a freeway ramp my mashing the pedal, cause it will puke out and sputter unless I decrease throttle travel to about 75%. Runs fine otherwise; idles great, great acceleration up to "full throttle" . . .

Replaced fuel filter
Replaced TPS
Cleaned MAF
Cleaned Throttle body
Replaced plugs
BG fuel treatment
"Throttle Cable Mod"
Prayed to Mother Mary

Oh yeah; intermittant CEL, but scanned OBDI and said "no stored codes" . . . .

I may have jumped the gun a bit here (red face). . .

As I was posting my last question, I was actually waiting for the throttle body and MAF to soak real good . . . didn't think that would help my cause.

Threw things back together, 'cause I had to run to the store. Lo and behold, no more "stumble" . . . . hard to believe all it took were some chemicals in the pipes. Sprayed the MAF REAL good with MAF cleaner, and carb and choke cleaner down the throttle body. Throttle oozed some tobacco juice looking crap, and I ran the engine while spraying some more down there.

Truck runs GREAT!! Can't believe that's all it was, but I'm knocking on wood. .
