One of the guys here (I'm sorry, I forget who it was!) redid a contoured bench seat in a Gen1 Ranger. Maybe he's still lurking around here somewhere, and he'll chime in.

You might be thinking of @Bird76Mojo doing his bench seat.

I want to put good covers on mine too... I've settled on a set from Cover King... I haven't bought them yet because they're a little north of $300. They are a custom fit... most cheap versions are universal fit and look like it in the end.

No matter what you decide... the efforts you put into installation will pay rewards in the finished product.

I've also moved your post to the interior section... we're trying to keep the site organized so things can be found easier when looking for information.

Welcome to TRS...

I added foam using 3M adhesive and using an electric carving knife to shape it. Works well. I also contoured the foam using a pneumatic angle grinder with the small 3M Roloc discs.

I'm thinking of redoing my bench seat eventually. I'd like to pick up some modern bench seat foam from a large suv and shape it the same as my existing one. The newer foam has a much more firm and sporty feel. I like how you don't sink down in to it as much as the old Ranger foam/spring combo.
