help setting timing

Well i managed to get my truck started, but i was looking in the haynes manual and it says in order to set the timing use the SET TIMING CONNECTOR or the SHORTENING BAR. i need help locating them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the passenger side of the intake, near the middle runner, you will find a small 2-wire plug that just has a little slug in it. That is your SPOUT connector "shorting bar". Remove that slug and you will disable the computer's ability to actively advance or retard the timing, allowing you to set it.

Make sure to put that back in when you are done or you will have no power when driving.

Sure looks like it.

The easy test is to hit the crank with your timing light and watch to see the timing dance, then pull the plug and see if it settles down.

It was a bad coil wire but I still need to adjust the timing slightly
