My trucks a 2wd 1996(3.0). I have foxbody fuel rails on an explorer intake. The truck has all stock lines (which im keeping) until under the hood. Id like to run push-loc style lines and fittings from the stock ranger lines on the frame under the hood(drivers side) to the rails. I dont have the explorer stuff :/ ..... Needing some help as to what fittings to buy for the stock ranger lines and what to connect to these possibly- Russell Mustang -6An And -8An Fuel Rail Adapter Kit (86-98) (lmr.com) Im up for any suggestions as far as routing and brands or any other ideas. Thanks in advance!

That doesn't make sense, I don't know of any Fox Body or Explorer that ever came with the 3.0

I think he's saying his truck had a 3.0L until he did an engine swap. Then he'd like to utilize the 3.0L lines back to the tank.

I'll ask... do both of those systems use a return line?

If you really want to do 6An fitting... maybe @lil_Blue_Ford might have something add.

So, I’m not exactly sure what you’re after here.

My 5.0 swap I did (now) everything from the pump to the braided lines off the fuel rail in -6 AN, I used the PTFE braided stuff, apparently the rubber AN stuff has a tendency to pinhole with ethanol from my research. I was able to use regular adapters and stuff for most of it and got some of the push-loc adapters for the lines at the rail. I’m not really sure if/how to hook directly to the rail, it kinda looks like standard -6 AN for the fitting at the rail, but I’m not really sure. At the pump I had to use a Nitrous Express 5/16” adapter and a Speedflow 90*, then use a 45* on the end of the line. Return was a Russell 3/8” adapter and a 45* on the end of the line. I got all of my bits from Summit Racing. Expensive to do it all, but originally I tried to do just from the filter up to the lines off the rail and started blowing out the line back to the pump, so I fixed it for good.

Yeah, I knew I had a problem from the start. I couldn’t get the line to disconnect by the engine, the stock push-loc fittings. Gave up and went to -6AN from the filter up to there. When I changed the fuel filter, the one stock fitting on the tank side tried to come apart. Thought it was ok, and it was ok right up until I thought I was ready to drive the truck, then it started leaking. Ended up cutting the nylon line, putting in a hose barb and high pressure rubber fuel line to the filter. Started with one hose clamp on each end, then two clamps (I was using the high pressure fuel line clamps), then it was two clamps and a zip tie.

So to be clear, going to part of the line run in -6AN was not really the issue here. I was trying to save time and money and it bit me. I even had a warning when I had a problem getting the tank side fitting off the fuel filter and decided to ignore the obvious fact that my factory lines were in a compromised condition. I don’t blame the new line, I blame myself for not doing what I should have done from the start.

Where did you run all your line? Drivers side or passenger side?

Drivers side, just like factory. Passenger side is where the exhaust goes to keep it away from the fuel as much as possible.
