Help! Differential Spider gears fell out!

1991 ranger 4.L 4x4. I was replacing rear axle seals and the spider gears fell out. I was able to get one back in but can't figure how to get the other one in.

You have to get them across from each other. You should be able to get one in then rotate one axle shaft or the carrier so you can get to the opposite window in the carrier to get the other gear on or get the cross pin hole crosswise and get one spider on top and the other on bottom then rotate the two gears so they line up with the cross pin hole and stab the cross pin back in

Yeah, gears can be a little finicky to get in there. I’ve already temporarily put the cross pin back in after pulling the C-clips when doing this just to make sure the gears don’t walk out on me.
