Heater hoses

Can anyone show me a heater hose connection diagram for a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4WD? I took them off but can’t remember what goes where. I’m getting old. Thanks in advance.

At the firewall side it doesn't matter. So it probably doesn't matter at the engine side either.

The block side shouldn't matter from a functional stand point, but will probably only fit one way due to length.

At the heater core it very much doesn't matter one bit. A heater core is the liquid equivalent of a light bulb. It doesn't care which way things flow through it, as long as there is flow it will work.

Just to be safe I'd flush water both ways through the core before you attach the hoses because if you get them backwards you could flush any detritus that's in the core into your engine.

I usually install a filter for just that reason.

That's just a generic example. You can MAKE them much cheaper than that.
