Had a severe case of heat exhaustion a couple of days ago, and it really did me in, then the next day had a heat stroke. Will be gone for awhile to heal myself..not sure how long this will take. Want to say trs is a good place that has been very helpful to my ranger and I from when I first joined back in 2000. I will return when I can, hopefully stronger.

I dunno, TRS and AC seems like a great way to recover from that.

My credo
I poop in the furnace.
I take medication that makes me extremely susceptible to heat exhaustion or even a heat stroke. I'll offer a few tips to keep it from happening again. #1 know your limits, if you feel it just stop. Its hard sometimes and if your like me makes you feel weak and embarrassed but you gotta do what's best for your health. Stop what your doing and walk away, get some shade, drink some water, and relax.

Get some good hot weather clothes, lightweight ventilated shirts (mine are all made for fishing). They are 100% better than a basic tshirt. Hats too, get a light "booney" hat to keep sun off your face. I wear an old army jungle hat lol.

Get some cooling towels, they work. You get them wet, throw them on your neck and they evaporate quick which causes a cooling effect. They dont last long but they work.

Finally, drink.... not soda, not gatorade, drink water. Lots if your not peeing crystal clear, you need more water lol.

Best wishes and hope you feel better soon.

Amusing of your response..it don't matter what state I live in. This is some serious health concerns. For you to say what you did in the first part of you comment is nonsense, and that is me being politely to you. To the other part, that heat was brutal. Have lived in California my whole life and being a native..have dealt with heat, yet have not had any real issues like this before.

Will definitely keep that in mind, and taking it extra careful. Was outside sitting down when the exhaustion came on, and rushed to the er..as I was unresponsive. Five hours later..was released. Next day same thing was outside sitting down and the heat stroke happened. Haven't done much as I am still recovering from my shoulder surgery. Have not ate much nor drank fluids as I should. My main source of fluids is water and juice. Don't drink coffee or sodas..can't stand either of those. Being 5-10 and 190lbs. Er says I am very fortunate to be alive and both cases.

Hey, thanks for the looking out.

Sorry I meant its funny when people who dont live in states like CA or AZ etc..say its hot or that its the humidity that gets you, which is kind of like me complaining how it gets cold here when it rarely drops below 40F. Or the old "oh its a dry heat so its not as bad", which to me is more its like standing in front of a hair dryer, but at least it does make swamp coolers effective.

Anyways my apologies, I am a native as well, and yes, the weather is a little different nowadays...Ive noticed 3 things:
1) Its starts to get hotter later. The 100 degree days used to show up around late June/earlyJuly, but it recently the heat waves show up around August.
2) It changes (cools down to fall weather) right around Halloween.
3) It almost feels like the sun is "closer" than it used to be. Like for example stuff gets sun damaged faster than it used to. and sometimes its too "bright" even with a hat and sunglasses
