I have an 04' ranger with 3.0L and need to replace the heads. I am looking into pick-n-pull but I don't know what year vehicle/s I can pull from. Does the donor vehicle have to be an 04' or can I pull from an earlier/later model? Thanks in advance.

'00 and up Ranger or Taurus heads should work ok, but you need to check for cracks and recessed valves. Some '99's would work, but I would look for newer.

Also keep in mind 2004 to 2006 Ranger 3.0 cylinder heads had some issues. Here is the Technical Service Bulletin info found on TRS: http://www.therangerstation.com/ford_ranger_buyers_guide/Ford_technical_service_%20bulletin_tsb_05-26-3.shtml
I'm not sure why that TSB only covers 04-06, my 03 3.0 had recessed exhaust valves and 1 recessed intake valve.. Unless my engine is not the original :shok:

Just something I would check for regardless of year, though honestly I would just opt for reman heads personally
