so yesterday my friend found a brand new set of pacesetter headers and y pipe he had bought for his 94 4.0 ranger and said i could have em. now my truck is a 98 4.0 ohv and the previous owner cut the cat destroying the y pipe. will the headers and y pipe from the 94 work?

Your 98 will need one upstream O2 sensor for each Bank to run properly.
If the headers have bungs for an O2 on each, you should be good to go (I doubt it!).

Otherwise, you'll need to install the O2 sensors on the new Y-pipe, one for each header. Might want to get a Y pipe from the JY or just weld in new bungs.

You'll also need a downstream O2 sensor after the Cat. It monitors Cat efficiency.
