Hazards stop working when brakes are applied (92 Ranger)

Hey all! At work I drive a 92 regular cab XLT 2.3L ranger. When I turn my hazards on and then apply my brakes, the hazards stop flashing until I release the brake. I checked on my personal Ranger (an 89 super cab, 2.9L), and it's hazards work great even with the brake applied.
Anybody else experience this issue? Any suggestions? Thank you!

If the brake and turn indicator share a bulb... it should stop flashing and show brake lights.

Make sure the brake lights on the 89 are working properly.

I've never owned one newer than 88, but all of my RBVs have done exactly that.

IIRC, On my last GenII the hazards would override the brake lights... Just like the rear blinker still flashes when you hit the brakes.

My 09 won't hazzard flash with the brakes on.

it's been a while since I've tried that so I don't remember off the top of my head... I know most things the brake lights override.

That said, there were wiring changes in the mid '92 model year so even though they look identical an '89 and '92 aren't necessarily going to do the same thing...

Brake lights override the hazards for safety reasons. People behind need to know when brakes are applied to a vehicle that has its hazards on.

In all of my newer vehicles the brake lights over-ride hazard operation at the lens, but leave the dash indicators flashing. It's only in my Ranger and BII that the brakes also make the dash indicators stay solid.
