So Lima and duratec must be the same them. Im sure it can be a lil shorter..
I somehow doubt they are the same. Dunno never pulled mine off but the system in which they are attached is insanely different. Lima is keyed and not even pressed, it "shouldn't" require a puller to remove. The duratec bolt might even be torque to yield since it requires a very specific torque value to work (it's not keyed, and the balancer holds the crank pulley on which is also not keyed) the duratec system is friction only and if it let's loose your buying a new engine. Even loosening the balancer on a duratec before locking the camshafts will result in engine damage.

I could be completely wrong, but just based on how different the engines are I'd think the duratec bolt is larger, finer, or TTY. :dunno:

I'd pull mine off to compare if you gave me the 400 dollars in tools to do it. :icon_rofl:

Dirt track requires a distributor ignition, aka old old block. (Pre 86?)

Dunno if they are different but I'd think the earlier ones with no crank trigger had a different bolt simply cause, science?

The crankshaft is the same all around I think, the '85 crank bolt is like 1/2" longer than the '89 style, probably changed in '86 with the small journal crankshafts.

FWIW, the distributor hole went away in '96 with the oil pump behind the aux pulley, the blocks had the distributor hole but a distributor wouldn't fit on the engine because of the lower intake manifold, change the cylinder head and you can now fit a distributor...
