Oh man! Tapatalk won't show me half the pictures you've posted but I sure am glad you're a few steps ahead of me! I'm going to steal your design for the mounts!!!! Thanks ;-)

That 205 is much more compact than my 208, but I'll make it work.... Looks like you're doing a swell job. Any ideas on exhaust yet? Will factory manifolds not fly? Gonna try to run the ones from my donor until further notice....

Yeah the exhaust is going to be a disaster! That's the reason i chose a 205 over any other tcase. I don't think the manifolds I have will work. I'm probably going custom headers.

That's what I think my route will be. Going to stay with factory fead, too.

I got my tcase in this weekend. One snag was the np205 was never offered behind a zf5. I had to notch the transmission to make it fit. I've read elsewhere this is how you have to do it.

I made a simple cardboard template so I would know what I had to cut.

This is how much material that has to be removed.

Here is the material removed

Np205 is in!!!

I was going to start working on building crossmembers for the transmission and tcase but I have very limited room for the transmission crossmember.

Nice, clean cut! It looks good!

So no one has had a flange break or anything by doing this? Removing material on something like that would make me nervous but I think I'd be over it once I put the truck through it's paces, you know?

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I couldn't find a flange or anything for it. I didn't really like the idea either but I'm just glad I'm not the only person who has done it.

Surprisingly I used my angle grinder with a cut off wheel and then switched to a grinder.

Thing is coming along! Got mine dropped in over the weekend. Motor is mounted, tranny is next. It's in, but not mounted. Soon!

Thanks! I've been following your thread but i haven't posted in awhile.

Anyway, I took a break to figure out my transmission mount. I found out my engine sits at a bad angle to the drivers side and i didnt want to build the crossmember with everything at an angle. . 3/4" would fix that problem. I decided to modify my engine mount 3/4" down. It sits level now.

That's a good idea! Mine was leaning to drivers side, I used a 1/2" worth of shims to raise it up. No pics, but just goes to show every build is different!

Yeah no kidding! I needed 3/4" and then with the 1/4" thick plate I couldn't bolt it down. The stud is only 1" long!

I noticed! While shimming the ds, I found I actually needed to notch the shim and place it under the actual mount vs under the plate. It worked, but man oh man! A manual would be so nice right about now!

Well, I was in the process of building the trans crossmember and decided to stop. I decided to go with a doubler. I ordered a Strong Box from Behemoth Drivetrain and I also ordered a 2" body lift. I didnt want to but not having one over complicated everything. I think I will have enough room to clock the 205 up and get it above my radius arm crossmember. If not I'll be shortening my Radius arms and building a new mount.

My np205 was a bitch to put in. Make sure you got another person there with you for safety.

How are your radius arms brackets on the frame? Instead of shortening them, why not just incorporate the crosse member into your radius arm brackets? That's what I would
