I put almost all of my guns in my gunsafe. I locked the darn thing and now, I can't open it. It has one of those circular shafted keys that you press in to move the tumblers. It works perfectly on the lower lock, but not the top one. I sprayed the lock with gun oil (yeah, I know it's a no-no) but it kind of binds pushing it in.

Any ideas? I'm not looking forward to trying to drill that lock out but not seeing a lot of alternatives here.

Nevermind - I finally got it to open. There is just some binding turning the 6" long latch and the key is too little to move it. I see some lube in it's future.

Is this a true gun safe or kind of like a metal cabinet to store guns in? If its just the metal cabinet type, take the latch off the back of the lock put a small washer or 2 behind it and put it back together, that should solve the problem.

Definitely the latter. Thanks for the info, I'll play around with it some when I get home from work.
