This is for Iowa, so it wouldn't apply to the OP:
The Iowa DNR rakes a bunch of people over the coals every year for not having their gun properly stored during hunting season. It is a great way to lose a couple hundred bucks. Probably mostly to discourage road hunters which is one of the lowest forms of a hunter IMO (second only to poaching)
Personally even if it was legal I still wouldn't do it because your are a busted window away from losing your guns... which you are broadcasting that you have in your truck.
