no problem finding ammo, only a problem finding cheap ammo!

yeah, Leopold fixed 4x sight, the bolt still has the pattern on it, though i did find an engraved number on the bottom of the bolt, which I thought was odd... 4 digit, 1164 i think... can't think of what that might be

on the bolt shroud or the handle? i've had two 700's and dont recall any numbers anywhere on the bolt. i'll have to take a look at my 700P when i get home.

My Ruger American has some of the serial number written on the bolt body, I assume to make sure the bolt stayed with the correct gun during assembly. Although you have to remove the bolt to see it...

Man, nice rifle, and nice scope. A Remington 700 & a leupold is a great hunting combo. Your Grandfather would've been pleased that it was kept in such nice shape.

I have two; one in '06 with a Leupold 2-7 and one in 270 with a Nikon 3-9. Both are very accurate.
