One would think that if they went through the trouble of swapping in a V8 they would have at least one picture of the engine bay. Probably a stock V6.

It's probably either just some d-bag trying to pull one over on someone too trusting, or someone who knows nothing about their vehicle.

Recently on Craigslist I saw an 80s g-body car up for sale that had the "rare factory 4.3 v8"

Gm didn't use that motor In the 80s lol.

But there is not a 92 Explorer with a factory V8.

Actually they did. Lots of Caprice Classics had them. Generally a 90s engine though, but it was designed/built in the mid 50s.

They used it 55-57, 75-76, and yeah 94-96.

The 4.3 they put in things during the 80s was a v6.

Whelp, I'm wrong then 🤷‍♀️

Crazy though.. I've never ever heard of the 4.3 v8 being used in the 80s, even Wikipedia says it wasn't used.

Learn something new every day. 2 things today honestly... the other being that buick&olds used a 3.6L all aluminum v8 for a few years back in the day.. it was even factory turbod in the olds. Want to buy one now. That's just too cool to me.. a little American v8... America's all about 5-6-7 liter v8s.. not tiny ones.

According to my Chilton's manual, Pontiac had a 265 cu in V8 (4.3) in the early 80s and Chevy had a 267 cu in V8 (4.3) in that same time frame. According to Chilton's, Olds never had one, but that was during the time that GM was getting in trouble for putting different brand engines in their various vehicles, so the Olds could have had a Chevy or Pontiac engine from the factory. They were a whopping 115-120 hp and around 210 torque...

Is that the same motor that made it to the Lincoln LS?

Edit - that's a yes.
