Yeah, even if you just use it for verification purposes or vibration diagnosis, it is nice to have. I've thrown off weights before and didn't know.

I guess high speed balancing is a bit of an overkill for my application.

Where are you getting the balancer? I was wondering how hard could it be to make one that folds in half to go through the rim, then folds out and locks to sit it on

I'll check those out man. Did they ship them to the shop you gave them?
Yes. Technically, the shop got the tires from its distributor.

I'm still thinking Walmart, unless they inflate the price, if so I might try my neighbors place over at his feed store

I bought my own used tire machine and I’ve been using internal balancing media. So far I‘ve liked the stuff from Innovative Balancing, ceramic bead media. I tried a glass media in the green Ranger, but either I didn’t use enough, or it’s a bad product. The ceramic beads from Innovative work great, the ones in the tires of my F-150 are in their third set of tires and are fixing to end up in a 4th set. I’ve had the speedometer pegged and it was smooth sailing. I run the “off-road” beads in the 31’s on the F-150. Also have it in the 35’s on the Choptop, the 33’s that used to be on it have those beads too. Mom’s Explorer has them. Everyone is happy so far. I have a set for dad’s Ranger too. My buddy got some glass beads that look like they could work just as good. We shall see. Since it balances as you drive, it constantly re-balances as your tires wear. Physics at work…

Yeah the price has gone up a bit in about 10 months. This is the one I tried: Balancer
Was 58 bucks when I bought it.

I quit liking HF because they're a private club. It used to be ok when they sold to everyone as if they were a customer, I hardly ever go there anymore

I didn't know it was a private club.
They have a membership that'll get you a discount on some things... but other than that yeah it's just like Walmart or anywhere else

Every sale they have goes for days that only private members get a discount, there may be another tier in between, I don't remember for sure, but only the last couple days is open to non-membership holders get a sale price, which also is far inferior.
I told them it was nothing but a private club and should be refused many of their licenses :D
Also I was wanting a pressure gauge of some sort that was on sale for 29.99 or something, thought I'd go ahead and pick one up but not use it unless it became neccessary, he made the mistake of telling me there was also a 25 percent restocking fee for "non-member" returns, that was when I told them what to do with everything they had ;)
There has become too many other stores around like A major Walmart, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Atwoods, a huge old time Hardware store downtown, to really wish to put up with a few dorks who think too highly of themselves.

Speaking of Atwoods I went by there to get some dogfood and was browsing through their tools and saw some 1/4" 25 ft air hoses for about $12.
Thing was there were 2, I hadn't seen one yet and suddenly there were 2 there to choose from.
One was PVC and the other was Rubber. I got the rubber one but really haven't had any experience with one or know how well they work, unless that's what my full size hoses are.
The PVC is rather handy, not having to roll it up or nothing
