You can buy the parts, buy the tools, read some books, watch some YouTube videos, buy and erect a temporary shelter, if necessary and still come out cheaper than that and have it done right.

I don't intend to spend half that much on my next used axle. It'll have LS, disc brakes, 31 spline axles. Might not be 4.10, but it'll also have a matching front diff and the rest of a 5.0L AWD Explorer attached.
Most used Ranger axles had an easy life and in perfectly good condition, even if a little over due on a fluid change.

Yeah, came out of my 1996 2.3 4wd I swapped it for a 8.8 l/s out of a 2001.
