Good electric fan

I just got the swap radiator but still need an electric fan and some sort of shroud. If I use a shroud from a ranger what would be a good size electric fan? I am guessing it should work just not sure what a good fan would be.

Volvo 740/760/850/s-70 fan works wonderfully. Been running that setup for over 4 years and never had an issue. Here in Texas I'm often driving in 100 degree heat and it's never been over 200 on the temp. I used a BMW two temp. switch mounted in the upper hose fitting on the intake to get low and high speed from the fan. Make sure and get the relay and wiring when you get the fan. Minor cutting enables the fan and housing to mount right on the radiator and cover the whole thing so it can draw plenty of air. I can get some pics for you if you want.

My friend had a bmw with a sheet of clear acrylic or plastic attached to the back of the rad with a section cut out for the fan to pull air from supposedly it worked but i personally wouldn't do that.

Texas heat means the highest CFM rating you can get.

Im not sure what computer you are using or radiator but im gonna use a 180-185° thermostat since im using a A9L computer and alot of the mustang guys have better results using a low temperature set thermostat. But going too low for your computer isn't good either.

01+ 4 cylinder powered Rangers had factory E-fans in addition to the clutch fan. Not sure what radiator you're using, but they bolt directly to 98+ Ranger radiators, and with some minor trimming, will work with Explorer 5.0 radiators too, which is what I run.

Will say the Mercedes e fans mentioned by 85 are a direct fit, and more cooling power than you'll ever need. I use them.

I dont know around here they want an arm and a leg at the used parts places. I may try facebook marketplace to try to find one. I remember taurus fans were the big deal. I have a small fan for the 2.3 radiator I think it was a volvo or something. The only time it came on was summer day and sitting in a driveup with a line. I think swapping out the clutch fan was a good idea on it. The engine seemed to spool up a lot quicker. The fan never really ran for very long and you could here it every time it ran.

I am going to be running a holley 1850/600cfm carb.
