Not a GM fan but found a GMC Acadia at one of the used car lots I do work for occasionally. 2019 with 50k, after trading in my fiesta it would be 4k cash.

Any opinions? I'm really nervous about the transmission on the fiesta and know it's getting scrapped after the warranty is up because I'm fairly sure the transmission will explode the next day. Already been in the dealer twice for transmission problems. Its paid off so if I can swap it for a better ride before then why not? I know nothing about the acadia though.

I don't count birthday's anymore...just happy to be looking down at the ground instead of looking up
Most of the test companies like Consumer Reports give the 2019 Acadia above average ratings, some higher depending on trim and engine.
Says that no matter the trim level it's a comfortable SUV.
If it's only gonna cost you 4 grand and your problem prone Fiesta, I'd say go for it.
Weather it's a GMC/Chevy or Ford Explorer, or anything similar, it's pretty much which one "trips your trigger".
I would check tho as to how much of the warranty is left. 50,000 miles in one year is a lot, unless the owner was an over the road frequent traveler.

I called them back. Bitched about tires. So it's now 3,400 cash OR itll have new tires for 4k. It wont have new tires by Thursday... either way I'm going Thursday to pick it up. It was a rental so I said I'm giving it a full inspection before I sign anything. It had continental tires on it which cannot be original at only 50k. But they are shot, so I said look you put some old used tires on it to sell and said you can even put cheap continentals back on as long as their new I'll give you the 4k. Sounds fair to me for 18" tires. 150 a tire i dirt cheap... if they dont get put on I save 600 and have tires from my mkx that will fit.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
They also built the Corvair, the Chevette, and the Vega, what could go wrong. Kidding aside $4000 to go from a Fiesta to a 2019 SUV sounds too cheap, a Carfax may be a good investment. If it's been wrecked it could have been repaired properly and be a good vehicle, if it was flooded it's a grenade with the pin pulled.

I work for other dealerships. Ran a full report on it. It was a rental running from Oklahoma to Florida and they didn't try to hide that from me. But nothing came up shady. I still get what's left of the ford warantee or so I'm told. And for you gm haters... drive a ds6 transmission.

Which optioned model?

2.5 190 hp 4 banger?..or the 300 hp 3.6 v6?

2 tons is a lot of weight for a 4 banger to pull, the fuel mileage of them isn't anything to write home to mama about.

The powertrain warranty on them is only 5yrs/60,000 miles

It was like that when I found it.
The rental thing doesn't bother me too much anymore. I think they are usually well maintained although you can't tell how they were driven by the renters. Sort of like buying an old police vehicle. Had two "rentals" over the years that were one year old and had over 40k on them. Put another 200+k on one and the other is still going with over 120k. No hidden issues but I may have been lucky.

Sorry but GM is dead to me...
