Sorry in advance for the long post but I have a 1990 ranger with the 2.9 and am having trouble locating where some of my plugs and vacuum line go below are the pictures of the plugs I cannot find a home for and a vacuum line that broke and Im not quite certain where is goes either I also am seeing if anyone knows what attaches to what I believe is the thermostat sender as well as what 4 things attach to the throttle body two of the hose nipples of the throttle body ive deduced to the pvc valve and crank breather but then theres 2 other small outlets on it that are open
I am also looking for recommendations on what oil you guys run after a fresh rebuild currently im looking at using valvoline synthetic with a quart of lucas zinc additive in addition to that recommendations on priming everything for the first start I am thinking of unplugging the fuel pump relay and running the starter for 5-10 seconds a few times to try and prime the oil pump but I am not certain that will be enough any insight is greatly appreciated since this is my first engine overhaul ive done and dont wanna mess up all the work ive put into this project all ready

Coolant temp sensor.

One of these probably goes to the coolant temp sensor above. Not sure if these had two coolant temp sensors, if so the other may go to that or to an oil pressure sender since they used the same style connector back then. Not sure which one would go to which.

Is that a vacuum line? If so I'm thinking possibly goes to vapor (EVAP) cannister. That should a black "box" be on the core support I think. It collects fuel vapors from the tank.

Other end of the evap cannister connection. Pulls fuel vapors out of the cannister and burns them off.

I have no idea about the other vacuum line on the bench, maybe if it were still in situ.

This is all my assumptions from working on Rangers and vehicles in general. Dad had a 90 BII with the 2.9L about 20 years ago, but I'm not super familiar with those engine bays.

Picture 4 is PVC nipples one goes to the PCV valve in one valve cover and the other goes to the breather on the opposite valve cover. Picture 5 is the water temp sensor wire on the intake manifold and the other longer wire goes to the oil pressure sender on the lower left side of the block just to the rear of the timing cover.
