So I start the truck, starts right up, I let it warm up, drive say 4 miles to a store. Shut it down, 20 min later I start it up, it runs rich after re-start and does not want to hold idle until I let it warm up for a few minutes… any thoughts? is this normal for the 2.9?

No, not normal for any engine

Not alot to go on
When was the O2 sensor last changed, they last 100k miles or 12 years
O2 is only used after engine warms up, and can be intermittent

ECT(engine coolant temp) sensor issue maybe
No connection to dash temp gauge
ECT tells computer when to Choke a cold engine, choke means Rich fuel mix
ECT could be telling computer coolant temp is 60degF(apply choke) when its actually 140degF(no choke needed) after being off for 20 min
So wouldn't effect cold start, when engine is running cold, but would effect running AFTER warm up and restart

And the classic 2.9l warm engine restart issue......................TFI module, known issue that causes rough running once the module itself gets warned up

I am going to start with a TFI module replacement and go from there. Thanks for the advice 👍
