I’m new here, sorry if this is an issue that’s been discussed a million times I’m not sure how to navigate. I just purchased an 05 ranger 2.3 truck had no battery it’s out old shop truck a friend was going to buy it a few months back and backed out well I jumped on it. It had a broken spark plug wire and I replaced the battery. I don’t hear the fuel pump coming on and I have no fuel at the rail. I checked the fuse and the relay. Both are in good working condidtiom but the fuse is hot all the time is that normal? Also truck ran great off a single squirt of MAF cleaner. Just about order a pump and filter but thought I’d get an opinion. Thanks

Use a jumper to bypass the fuel pump relay. See if the pump works.

Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
Does an '05 have an inertia switch, like the older ones that I'm used to? I'd also try to check for power at (or close to) the pump before buying the new one.
