Hey guys, need some help just figuring out the name of this part so i can replace it. It's all melted inside the where the electrical connectors attach and Autozone has been no help in trying to find a new one. It's a positive and negative cable that attaches to the external fuel pump on my 87 Ford Bronco II.

My credo
If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
I got the new connector for my in tank pump from LMC truck, they might have it. In my experience, the folks at Autozone can't find their backsides with both hands. If you pay peanuts you get monkeys isn't just a funny saying, it's a fact.

It's been a while since I replaced my pump. I don't remember anything special about the wiring. Can you just splice in good wires?
A picture would help.

Deengineer until it is how Blue Oval should have sold it!!
John,

It sounds like you need to build a new section of your fuel system wire harness.

Should be super easy to cut and rewire. I just did mine a few weeks ago. A pic would help!

Underneath the rubber boots are the normal spade connectors. The wiring has the female ends. One wire is 1/4" spade and the other is 3/16" spade if I remember correctly. All problems I've had with the frame rail type fuel pumps are those connectors getting loose. FYI the same fuel pump is used on almost all ford trucks of the same years so look at full size trucks too for replacement pumps. My 1989 Ford class "C" has the same pump feeding a 460.

Yeah I've had no trouble finding a new harness... Maybe the wires I'm looking for will come with it?
