So I got a 91 ranger 4.0L, I got into a minor accident the other day which left me with the impact switch going off. I ended up direct wiring the two wires that go to the impact switch to each other, now it sounds like the fuel system doesn’t top itself off and stop. Is that expected after direct wiring the two wires together?

Turn key on but don't start truck. Fuel pump should run for 2 seconds or so and shut off. If it doesn't shut off, then you have a problem with something else.

Do you have water in the area of the computer? Happened to a Sentra my dad had. Got the computer wet and injector and pump stuck on.

Not sure just yet, but passenger side has a leak in the fire wall. Truck won’t stop priming when key is in the on position & won’t start without starting fluid.

That's weird. Does it stay running if you start it on spray?

Will not start on its own, only if I spray some starting fluid in the throttle body
