Been having a problem with the fuel manifold drying out and fine rust forming on surface. When it sits for extended periods. After about a year of on and off sitting the fuel drain's out of the manifold and rust forms clog's injectors and then a lose of power. I take them apart and rebuild. Any help, thanks Dirty

Odd, however, why not just start the truck more often? Or at least prime the pump to recharge the lines? all I can think of for any fix to this situation.

cheers

Crossed threads are tight threads.
Gotta start em up and run em a bit every once in awhile...There's other stuff happening too, like the valve springs sit compressed that whole time, when they are meant to flap open and shut. Stuff like that is nice to give the engine a spin once in awhile, rotate the load.

No reason a fuel system can't hold pressure for a year or more, I would check FPR(fuel pressure regulator) to see if can hold pressure, if not then fuel pumps internal check valve is the issue

"Rust" is Oxidation so can only form in the presents of Oxygen and water, if you can keep pressure/gasoline in the system then no Rust

I assume the injector filters/screens show signs of this rust flakes?
If so it would be good time to do a chemical clean of the fuel rail(manifold), or replace it with new, as available

There is an aluminum one available, came on the European built Sierra 2.9l.

Very hard to find, though.

That's the one i found, aint after no unicorn. I took it out once and did the muritic acid dip with ball bearings and it worked for a while. I've had a couple of FPR's on it, new and tested OEM. No leaks in the Vacuum hose or fuel leaks i can find. Ill do a fuel pressure test soon and get a base line. Use to get the pressurized cleaner in a can and connect it t o the shradder valve on the rail, disconnect the realy and let run till it quit. Must have put holes in the ozone, aint seen it in a long time.
