Is there a way to test the fuel injectors to make sure they are working correctly?

Yes, but to do it right requires building a test rig. Basically, you have to provide the injector with pressurized fluid and elecrical current. Then watch it's spray pattern. Somewhere in this computer I have a picture or two of a former member's test rig. I'll post them if I can find them.
